![]() ![]() They could help solve part of the problem but they don't want to.Īs for the lawsuit, they're right. So, this is the kind of thing that Nintendo doesn't care about. ![]() It will run THE SAME new games you buy for your 3DS and also the 20 year old games you want to play!" To me this was ridiculous!!! And the point is that I have the Donkey Kong trilogy and Super Metroid in official cartridges for the SNES, but I'd like to play them handheld and not have to rely on a TV anymore. If you wanna play the 20 year old games we're selling for 8 dollars each, buy a new system, the New 3DS. But they just don't.įor example, I got so happy when they announced Donkey Kong Country and Super Metroid for the 3DS virtual console, but they said: "no, no you idiot. Nintendo could offer just one service out of a dozen feasible options and people would subscribe to it, or even buy more classic games if 1) they were available or 2) Nintendo charged a nice price for 30 years old games. I don't think there are ways of ending this kind of practice but sure there are ways of reducing it considerably. Nintendo believes both sites are professional operations turning a profit. The websites are known for distributing proprietary BIOS software and using trademarked logos and characters as well. Nintendo went on record saying these specific sites were the most notorious online hubs for pirated video games and said the sites were known for distributing and displaying a large volume of the publisher's works without its permission. According to the source, this could theoretically equate to $100 million in damages.īoth websites are believed to offer readily available ROMS and emulators to the general public. ![]() Nintendo is requesting statutory damages of $150,000 per infringement, and up to $2,000,000 for each trademark infringement. Nintendo has reportedly filed a lawsuit at the federal court in the US state of Arizona earlier this week, with the publisher calling out two ROM and emulator websites - allegedly owned by the same Arizona-based company - for unfair competition as well as copyright and trademark infringement. ![]()

![]() In the 80s Madrid’ pubs and bars were bountiful in the Argüelles neighborhood, and today the area is full of university students and thriving culture. It isn’t by causality that the metro stop is located next to Madrid’s only planetarium and IMAX theater, which are both worth a visit. Star-gazers be alert! Arganzuela-Planetario, staying true to its name, boasts a huge mural inside depicting an artist’s rendition of the solar system. The mural is ultimately a beautiful example of Spanish collectivism and the effort to make Madrid’s communal spaces appealing. Two brothers designed the mural which is a mosaic of 3,796 graphic drawings of the construction. Located in the north of Madrid, Hortaleza’s new metro station mural is a testament to the work that goes into building a train tunnel photo by photo. Lighting up the station with its vibrant array of colors, the mural is by far one of the best modern works of Madrid and definitely a must-see. When the famous Spanish flamenco composer Paco Lucía passed away in 2014 not only did the city rename the metro station after him, but they also contracted well-known urban artists Okuda and Rosh333 to design a work in his honor. The station is also one of the few to have a Bibliometro. ![]() A design was placed at the edge of the tunnel saying “To Everyone who worked to make this a better neighborhood”. While it is well more than a stepping stone away from the center of Madrid, Carabanchel Alto is the the result of a neighborhood that fought and continues to fight for more city-services including an expansion of its line planned for 2023. The mural, constructed by Mignote in 1987, depicts a typical scene at Retiro is characteristic of his drawing style by unique faces and cartoonish features. With a convenient location, the stop features the works of the famous Spanish drawer Antonio Mingote. Retiro (Line 2)Ĭoming up at number 5 on the list, the Retiro metro stop is one of Madrid’s oldest stops (1922). The entrance to see the aquaduct is in the station, and is free on the weekend between 11:00-13:00 and 17:00-19:00. However, not everyone knows that underground in the station one can visit the remains of “Aqueducto de Amenial” (Amenial’s Aquaduct” which was constructed during Felipe III’s reign. Located in the heart of Madrid, Ópera is known for the art and history it shows above the station. Not only does the station blend old and new architecture together, but it also has its own fossil collection including the jaw of a Rhinoceros that’s 14 million years old! Conveniently, the station is near one of the best malls in the city. Named after the Spanish revolutionary who helped secure Spanish independence from the French Crown, Principe Pío is one of Madrid’s oldest train stations which has its hidden gems. The surrounding neighborhood also has dedications to the artist and is located near lots of shops and restaurants. From the metro cars one can see the 70 replicas of the artist’s original works. Spain loves artist Francisco Goya and so do we! Estación de Goya rightfully takes second place in this ranking because the history in this station is visible immediately upon entry. There is even a replica Gomphothere (Huge a$$ elephant) from the Miocene Epoch. Scattered throughout the station there are a potpourri of fossils ranging from ancient dinosaurs to giant tortoises. At the Carpetana metro stop there is 15 million years of history in the form of archeological deposits. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Madrid’s oldest history is underground. ![]() So the next time you’re on the metro and aren’t in a rush you might want to check out these fascinating underground stations. Murals, museum exhibits, paintings, and more surprises hide under the busy streets above. The metro that tends to become a normal part of life harbors more culture and sights than one would imagine. ![]() There is beauty where we least expect it, in fact, it’s right below us. Surrounded by all the beauty of Madrid’s streets, it is all too easy to overlook the sights we breeze by on autopilot. ![]() ![]() ![]() Run out through the blue door now, using the Eyes of Truth to clear the way. Pull the lever that you uncover all the way to the right, then use a Kratos clone to hold the dome in place. Walk to the center cage and use the Eyes of Truth to clear out the Fury barrier. Grab the blue and green orb chests, then go over to the big double doors and close them. Now you are at the top of the Lantern again. Again, the ever-useful Cyclone of Fury/Falling Helio combo works great and with a little perseverance you’ll make it through. Simply use the Cyclone of Fury and Falling Helios moves (double-jump and at the top of the arc hold square, then hold triangle to continue the attack lower on the ground). A centaur appears first and is a cinch to kill. Oddly, the third and final wave is the easiet. A proper kill will net you some green orbs. ![]() Wave Two has the only health in the whole sequence, so make sure you get the red grapple bar above the Amazons. Repeat this process until you’re able to execute the knight using its own weapon. Again, wait for the flames to die down and jump past both the knight and the firewall at the same time. You will need to dodge past it at some point. When fire blast makes it trickier to move around simply wait for the flames to die down before nipping past.Īn electricity knight will then appear – the best plan is to keep your distance and let Shadow Kratos chip away at its health, attacking occasionally from afar before backing away to avoiding its club. When the Amazons have died turn your focus to the harpies – these guys are pretty easy to kill off, just use the Cyclone of Fury and Falling Helios attacks (double-jump, hold square and then hold triangle). If you have any magic left be sure to use it now. The Amazons present the biggest challenge here – be ready to counter their attacks with a quick QTE button press, and again, use Shadow Kratos to keep the pressure on. If all goes well you should dispense with all of the enemies with around half your health bar still intact and, hopefully, some magic left over. Also use Shadow Kratos as frequently as you can and freeze enemies using the Amulet, before going in for the kill. Keep moving and watch out for both the electricity attacks and the Gorgon’s stare, because if you’re caught in mid-air you’ll turn to stone and shatter when you hit the ground, which is instant game over. You need to deal with these quickly – use magic as much as you can and make sure you hit every enemy with every attack. When you kill one of the gorgons, another appears kill the other and it’s replaced too, along with witches. Use a magic attack if necessary but no more than one – you’ll need them shortly. First up, there are two gorgons to kill – the trick is to knock them both down so the red ‘execute’ bar is above their heads at the same time, rather than killing them off one at a time. ![]() Ĭiting fears of commercial advertising and lack of control, users of the Spanish Wikipedia forked from Wikipedia to create Enciclopedia Libre code: spa promoted to code: es in February 2002. The English Wikipedia passed the mark of two million articles on September 9, 2007, making it the largest encyclopedia ever assembled, surpassing the Yongle Encyclopedia made during the Ming dynasty in 1408, which had held the record for almost 600 years. Nupedia and Wikipedia coexisted until the former's servers were taken down permanently in 2003, and its text was incorporated into Wikipedia. Language editions were created beginning in March 2001, with a total of 161 in use by the end of 2004. ![]() Wikipedia gained early contributors from Nupedia, Slashdot postings, and web search engine indexing. Bomis originally intended it as a business for profit. Otherwise, there were initially relatively few rules, and it operated independently of Nupedia. Its integral policy of "neutral point-of-view" was codified in its first few months. The domains (later redirecting to ) and were registered on January 12, 2001, and January 13, 2001, respectively, and Wikipedia was launched on Janu as a single English-language edition at and announced by Sanger on the Nupedia mailing list. On January 10, 2001, Sanger proposed on the Nupedia mailing list to create a wiki as a "feeder" project for Nupedia. Wales is credited with defining the goal of making a publicly editable encyclopedia, while Sanger is credited with the strategy of using a wiki to reach that goal. Nupedia was initially licensed under its own Nupedia Open Content License, but before Wikipedia was founded, Nupedia switched to the GNU Free Documentation License at the urging of Richard Stallman. Its main figures were Bomis CEO Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger, editor-in-chief for Nupedia and later Wikipedia. It was founded on March 9, 2000, under the ownership of Bomis, a web portal company. Wikipedia began as a complementary project for Nupedia, a free online English-language encyclopedia project whose articles were written by experts and reviewed under a formal process. Various collaborative online encyclopedias were attempted before the start of Wikipedia, but with limited success. Wikipedia founders Jimmy Wales (left) and Larry Sanger (right) Articles on breaking news are often accessed as a source of frequently updated information about those events. On 3 April 2018, Facebook and YouTube announced that they would help users detect fake news by suggesting fact-checking links to related Wikipedia articles. It has been censored by world governments, ranging from specific pages to the entire site. The website's coverage of controversial topics such as American politics and major events like the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine has received substantial media attention. The reliability of Wikipedia was frequently criticized in the 2000s, but has improved over time, as Wikipedia has been generally praised in the late 2010s and early 2020s. It has been criticized for exhibiting systemic bias, particularly gender bias against women and alleged ideological bias. Wikipedia has been praised for its ennoblement of the democratization of knowledge, extent of coverage, unique structure, culture, and reduced degree of commercial bias. In 2006, Time magazine stated that the policy of allowing anyone to edit had made Wikipedia the "biggest (and perhaps best) encyclopedia in the world". Its combined editions comprise more than 60 million articles, attracting around 2 billion unique device visits per month and more than 15 million edits per month (about 5.7 edits per second on average) as of January 2023. Initially available only in English, versions in other languages were quickly developed. ![]() ![]() Wales was influenced by the " spontaneous order" ideas associated with Friedrich Hayek and the Austrian School of economics after being exposed to these ideas by the libertarian economist Mark Thornton.
